Ad Basics
How do I submit / create my Ad?
We’ve tried to make this as simple a process as possible. We hope you’ll agree.
- Firstly decide which of our main Categories on the home page your item will be best suited to. These are “Home & Leisure”, “Vehicles & Boats”, “Life & Love”, “Jobs & Careers” and finally “Pets & Livestock”
- Take a look in this category to see if there are any other items similar to yours and what price / description have been submitted.
- Now you’ve got an idea where to put your Ad and what price to ask it’s time to click “Place an Ad” at the top of the page.
- You will now be taken to “step1 – select a category” The first option you will see is “Home & leisure” and next to this is a small arrow. Click on the arrow to see more category options. Once you’ve selected where you would like to see you add click continue.
- You will now be taken to “Step2” where you can select what type of Ad package you would prefer for your Ad.
- Once you’ve decided on your package click “Select This Package” you will then be transferred to “Step3” Listing Details.
- Now complete your Ad details in the boxes provided. You will notice that, for example, an ad with 200 Characters will show a Characters remaining display of 201 Characters. This is set to give you 200 usable characters. The extra Character is unusable.
- Extra Options These are chargeable additional services except on the Platinum package. They are charged at different rates depending on the package you have selected, and the price to pay for your selected package will show once clicked.
- Coupons / Discount Numbers If you’ve been given a promotional code you will need to enter it here before moving to the next stage. If you fail to input the code at this stage your discount or offer will not be applied with your Ad.
- Once you’ve finished editing your Ad you need to click “Continue”.
- If you’ve chosen a package with images included you will be asked to upload them now. Click on the browse button to find the pictures on your computer.
- Once you’ve located the image click “add image” you will then see your image file being uploaded. Once you can see your image/s click “Continue”.
- Verifying your details. You’re now close to completing your Ad. Check your details here and click “Continue”.
- You will be shown a “listing preview” and your Ad total cost. Once you’ve checked your listing and total click “Continue”.
- You will now be transferred to PayPal to pay for your Ad. (Unless you have chosen a Free Ad)
- Once your payment has been authorised your ad will be sent for approval. Your Ad will now show under “my account”.
- Once approved (usually within 24-48hrs maximum) you Ad will go LIVE and your Ad start date will be set.
Why add pictures?
- Pictures sell and speak a thousand words.
- Picture ads also show above text ads, so you might want to think about one of our paid packages.
What if my item doesn’t sell in 7 days? Can I re-submit the same advert?
The simple answer is of course you can, and we also offer a discount for renewals! (Discounts are not available to special offer prices as these are already discounted.) You can renew your Ads through the “my account” section.
