Definitions of Private Adverts
Trade Ads Offered
Any service offered in exchange for payment.
Advertisers offering several items in the same section (ie more than 2 cars, TV's etc).
Dogs for stud, as this is usually in exchange for payment.
Any amount of hay or straw (unless it is one odd bale).
Livery, stabling or yard facilities for horses available for rent.
Holiday homes for rent.
Rooms, flats, house-share, lodgers, garages, storage space for rent.
Avon/Betterware/Tupperware agents required.
Trade Ads Wanted
wanted in association with a person's business, e.g scrap items to be purchased for reconditioning.
Work wanted by a self employed tradesman.
Car boot items wanted (to re-sell?)
Unacceptable Adverts
Shotguns, handguns, rifles, and other firearms including ammunition, de-activated weapons, replicas and antique guns are not acceptable.
Adult videos/material are not acceptable.
Adverts requiring home workers are not allowed.
Models wanted by amateur photographers are not acceptable. However, models required by registered model agencys are acceptable.
Masseurs and beauty therapists need to produce proof of training/registration before advertising in the business section. Please email or send a copy of your certificate to your nearest centre.
No crossbows.
No magpies, chicks or eggs.
No endangered species.
No birds of prey.
Tortoises cannot be accepted without relevant documentation. Please email or send a copy of the ducmentation to your nearest centre.
No cash offers in council exchange ads.
No adverts for smart cards for satellite systems (D2 Mac decoder).
No ITV digital cards, top box systems.
No adverts for real fur items of clothing.
No laser pointers.
No rewards offered.
Sky D2Mac smart cards.
Sony PlayStation games on silver disc modification or convertor chips for Sony PlayStation Software copied onto blank CD's.
Copies, ie jewellery, CD's, clothes, perfume, it is illegal (As advised by Trading Standards).
Cigarettes, cigars or alcohol. We are not licensed to sell these goods. (As advised by Trading Standards).
CB radios - Superstar 360, President Lincoln, Sideband radios, CB radios with AM facility, Colt 1200 DX with low/med/high frequencies, Long range cordless phones, video senders. Radios with 80 channels are illegal.

Tickets can only be advertised at face value or below. The face value must be stated within the text of your advert.
Orders for insertion of advertisements on the Publisher's Website and Publications are accepted subject to the following conditions
Caledoniads is part of Caledoniads.co.uk and information supplied in this site may be shared within the group. We do not pass any information to third party companies but your advert may appear in one of Caledoniads.co.uk chosen partner publications or websites.
In these conditions "the Publisher" means Caledoniads.co.uk trading as Caledoniads', "the Advertiser" means any person, firm or company ordering advertisements with the Publisher for inclusion on the Website and in our Publications.
- This contract is personal to the Advertiser, and the Advertiser may not assign or transfer or otherwise part with the contract without the Publisher's prior written consent.
- Advertisement copy shall be legal, decent, honest and truthful, shall comply with the British Code of Advertising Practice, and with the requirements of current legislation.
- The Publisher reserves the right to make any alteration it considers necessary to or desirable to the advertisement and to require illustrations, artwork or copy to be amended to meet its approval.
- Copy may be changed as required by the Advertiser, provided adequate time is allowed.
- Advertisers may cancel their orders provided that notice of such is received in writing 5 working days prior to appearance.
- The Advertiser shall ensure that it has all necessary rights, licences and consents to incorporate or to procure the incorporation by the Publisher into the advertising of any materials provided by the Advertiser, to publish or otherwise make available the advertising on the Internet (and to link the Publisher's website to those owned by third parties to which the Advertiser wishes the Publisher's web site to be linked). All of the Advertiser's rights to its registered trademarks which are incorporated into the advertisement shall remain the property of the Advertiser.
- All intellectual property rights (including without limitation copyright and design right) (IPR's) in or to the copy comprised in any advertisement (including without limitation drawings, sketches, artwork, photographs and text in respect thereof) shall belong to the Publisher absolutely. The Advertiser hereby assigns the IPR's to the Publisher. The Advertiser shall at the Publisher's request sign, execute and do all such documents and acts as the Publisher may reasonably require to vest the IPR's in the Publisher and to protect and enforce them. The Advertiser undertakes that neither it nor any other person will assert any moral rights in or relating to the IPR's against the Publisher or any third party.
- No advertisement (or any part thereof) may be reproduced in any other publication or otherwise without the Publisher's express prior written consent and the Advertiser shall not license, permit or authorise any such reproduction.
- The Advertiser agrees that questions and complaints from persons, are the exclusive responsibility of the Advertiser and the Advertiser shall indemnify the Publisher in respect of any claims or complaints brought against the Publisher by any such third party.
- The Publisher shall provide the service with reasonable care and skill in a professional and timely manner and the advertisement shall be designed materially in accordance with the agreed specification. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Advertiser acknowledges and agrees that it is technically impossible to provide the advertisement free of faults and that the Publisher does not undertake to do so.
- The Publisher may at any time vary the technical specifications of its website (or any part of it) for operational reasons.
- The Publisher may at any time remove any or all of the materials from the advertisement which in the Publisher's opinion are unlawful or have been placed on the advertisement in breach of this agreement.
- From time to time the Publisher will need to carry out maintenance on its equipment and systems, and shall use its reasonable endeavors to ensure that, in so doing, reasonable notice is given and minimum disruption to the advertising is caused.
- The Advertiser shall report to the Publisher any suspected faults to the advertisement as soon as the suspected faults come to the Advertiser's attention.
- All goodwill arising in connection with the name "Caledoniads" and the logos for Caledoniads shall belong to the Publisher.
- The Advertiser agrees to indemnify the Publisher in respect of all costs, damages or other charges falling upon the Publisher as the result of legal actions or threatened legal actions arising from the advertising published in accordance with the instructions supplied to the Publisher.
- The placing of an order for Trade advertising to be included on the Publisher's website and publication shall amount to an acceptance of the above. Any agency conditions stipulated on an agency's order shall be void in so far as they are in conflict with them.
